DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE SERVICE I GET?

No. BMC is a community agency that provides services free to all newcomers and immigrants from all walks of life. We are a valuable source of information in all aspects of settlement for newcomers.

 

HOW CAN YOUR AGENCY HELP ME TO GET A JOB?

 We can help you through our Job Search Workshops and our Job Developer specialist will connect you to employers within and outside the Peel Region. We also do a follow up to ensure that our clients are gainfully employed and we encourage our clients to stay in touch with our centre.

 

DOES YOUR AGENCY OFFER VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES?

Yes we do. We have a Volunteer Program in our agency. You just simply send your resume or fill out a volunteer application form from any of our locations. You will be contacted by the Volunteer Coordinator for an interview. A lot of newcomers have benefitted from our Volunteer Program. You can gain Canadian work experience through the program and improve your networking and contacts.

 

CAN YOU HELP ME TO BRING MY FAMILY TO CANADA?

No. We are neither immigration officers that process sponsoring forms nor immigration consultants that help in putting the forms through. We don’t help to bring people to Canada.  We do, however, have the different types of immigration forms in our office and we can assist you in filling out the forms. We will also provide you with any information that may be helpful for your situation.

 

DOES YOUR AGENCY HAVE TRANSLATION/INTERPRETATION SERVICES?

Yes, we have a translation and interpretation services for certain kinds of documents.

 

WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR GETTING SERVICE IN YOUR AGENCY?

There is no eligibility criteria for receiving services. Services are provided free of charge to all newcomers/immigrants, refugees, visitors, and Canadian citizens. The only thing is to provide us with one of the following documents: Permanent Resident Card, Landing Record, Minister’s Permit, Refugee Status or Proof of Canadian Citizenship.

 

DOES YOUR AGENCY HAVE A COMPUTER PROGRAM?

Yes. We have a computer program in our different locations where you can learn how to use the keyboard, MS Office, and the internet.  Our teachers are professionals and our computer courses are offered at very reasonable costs.

 

CAN YOU NOTARIZE MY DOCUMENT FOR ME?

No, we don’t notarize documents in our office. If you need your documents notarized, we can refer you to notary body or lawyers that provide the service. We are able to certify copies of documents if you provide the original.
