Library Settlement Partnership (LSP)
Brampton Multicultural Centre is
proud to announce a unique and
innovative program called Library
Settlement Partnership (LSP)
launched in February 2009 by
Minister Kenney at the Chinguacousy
Library Branch. LSP is a three way
partnership between Brampton
Multicultural Community Centre,
Brampton Library and Citizenship &
Immigration Canada to support the
settlement and integration of
newcomers to Canada.
LSP Settlement Workers speak
multiple languages and are formally
trained on need assessment,
counseling skills and group
facilitation. They effectively
determine and prioritize clients'
needs and provide relevant referrals
to resources and services available
within the library as well as in the
wider community. Each month hundreds
of immigrants are served with
information and resources on.

LSP is a reflection of BMC's
commitment to providing quality
service to the immigrant population
for a better future! Our LSP workers
are available at two locations,
Chinguacousy and South Fletcher's
branch seven days a week during
library hours.
Our
popular
"English Communication Circle" series is held
every week at both the Chinguacousy
Library
and South Fletcher's Library branches
by BMC facilitators. Attendees are
provided with information about
schooling, parenting, Canadian
workplace culture, banking, resume
writing, and other issues such
as getting rid of garbage the
Canadian way. It also gives
newcomers a chance to improve their
English language skills while
enjoying tea and refreshments.
